Past Conversations

Do Good Executive Education partnered with Careers in Nonprofits to bring together nonprofit hiring experts and job seekers for a virtual conversation on navigating the current job market. Panelists Arthur Cutler II, President & CEO, Open Arms Housing; Jamie Farley, Managing Director, Careers In Nonprofits; and Teniqua Coates-Singh, Employer Engagement Coordinator, University of Maryland, Division of Student Affairs provided attendees with insights on crafting a strong resume, how to showcase skills and experience from outside of the sector, and how to strategically use AI in the job search process.

In partnership with Maryland Nonprofits, Do Good Executive Education hosted a virtual lunch and learn session featuring a candid conversation with foundation leaders on what they look to fund and the strategy, candor, and relationship-building that makes nonprofits stand out to funders. Andrea Bertels, Vice President, Corporate Citizenship, Nielsen and Dr. George Askew, Former President & CEO, Meyer Foundation, served as panelists.

The Up Close! Executive Series was designed to offer insights from nonprofit executives for current or emerging leaders. Past speakers include Brock Yetso,Executive Director, Ulman Foundation, and Tiffanie Purvis, General Counsel and Senior Philanthropic Advisor, Greater Washington Community Foundation.

Intensives

Our Intensives are extended sessions focused on critical nonprofit topics. These experiences go beyond theory, equipping participants with tools, frameworks, and strategies they can put into practice right away.

Past Intensives

This pro bono, in-person clinic was facilitated by Holland & Knight’s Public Policy and Regulation team. In this clinic, participants learned effective grant writing strategies and received personalized feedback on upcoming grant proposals.

In this two session series, participants received the tools to build strong and effective boards. In the first session, board members of varied board experience received an overview of board governance principles. The second session dove into the special nature of board chair and executive director relationship and how to build effective collaboration and leadership. 

In this comprehensive session, participants covered every aspect of major gift fundraising. Through discussions, interactive exercises, and real-world case studies, participants gained practical insights and hands-on experience to cultivate relationships, create compelling pitches, and master donor stewardship, all leading towards successfully securing large gifts.

Masterminds 

Peer learning. Sustained growth.

Mastermind Cohorts bring together small groups of nonprofit professionals for deeper engagement over time. Through facilitated sessions and peer exchange, participants work through real challenges and develop strategies they can implement within their organizations.

Past Masterminds

Finish Strong was a 6-month mastermind program designed for C-suite nonprofit leaders in the Maryland/DC area held late 2025 - early 2026. Through monthly workshops and peer mastermind circles, leaders explored timely best practices for program evaluation, storytelling, financial planning and forecasting in order to make personalized plans for their organizations.
