Salome Odera is the marketing specialist at the Do Good Institute. In her role, she promotes the nonprofit management and leadership certificate program and Do Good initiatives to the UMD community and beyond.
Odera is passionate about the nonprofit sector, community engagement and service. Prior to joining the Do Good Institute, Odera was the communications and external relations manager at Fair Chance. She is also a proud AmeriCorps alum. She served in Washington, DC through the Public Allies AmeriCorps Program and currently serves on the board of AmeriCorps Alums DC as service co-chair. Over the years, she has volunteered with several organizations that support youth, women and Black communities.
Odera has a graduate certificate in nonprofit management and leadership from the University of Maryland School of Public Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Cornell University. In her free time, Odera enjoys going to museums, exploring nature and spending time with friends.
