
As a part of Women's History Month, join the Do Good Institute and the Alumni Association for a panel featuring Women Igniting Change. This event will feature a Q&A panel of successful alumnae with experience in the nonprofit and/or social impact worlds, moderated by the Student Alumni Leadership Council. Following the panel, there will be a brief networking mocktail/cocktail hour with heavy appetizers for attendees. This event is geared towards current students and young alumnae, however, any University of Maryland community members are invited to attend.

Chelsea Brown MPM '21 is an award-winning philanthropist, social impact advocate, and entrepreneur. Trained as a nonprofit management professional, Chelsea has ample experience in philanthropy and is passionate about bringing diversity and inclusion to philanthropy. In 2019, she was selected to be a Forbes Under 30 Scholar, University of Maryland's Do Good Institute Philanthropy Fellow, and a William Randolph Hearst Fellow with the Aspen Institute's Philanthropy and Social Innovation Program. This past year, she was highlighted as a "Black Woman to Watch in Philanthropy" in BlackHer's study on Black philanthropy titled "The Black Woman's Guide to Philanthropy." As an advocate for community engagement, she has served on more than five boards, including the Winthrop University Foundation Board of Directors. Currently, Chelsea serves as the Founder of Black Mill, a firm focused on providing Black professionals with strategies for engagement, programs, and partnerships with nonprofit and for-profit partners internationally. Chelsea received her Master of Public Management from the University of Maryland in 2021, and her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Winthrop University in 2014.
Nicki Fiocco is the Director of the Governor's Office on Service and Volunteerism, the Maryland State Service Commission. She is particularly passionate about connecting people with opportunities through workforce development and professional networking. Nicki serves on the Board of Directors for the Baltimore Community ToolBank, is the Regional Voice Lead for the Baltimore DC Metro area for IMPACT 2030 Council and serves on the Alumni Committee for Service Year Alliance. She is a proud AmeriCorps alumni serving with Volunteer Maryland 2011-2012. Nicki completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland Baltimore County and completed the Nonprofit Leadership and Management Graduate Certificate at the University of Maryland College Park.
Armani McMillan is the Founder and Executive Director of IMPACTdmv, a nonprofit based in Prince George's County that provides 14- to 30-year-olds with resources designed to promote intellectual, artistic, and social growth through early adulthood. Passionate about student success, Armani has been building IMPACTdmv for nearly 7 years. She is also the Talent Acquisition Director at Employ Prince George's, Inc. and has served as a Student Advocate and College Summit Advisor for Prince George's Public Schools. She graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health in 2016 and is obtaining her graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of Maryland, College Park.
