New Partnership Will Grow the Do Good Institute’s Impact

The Do Good Institute, The Rothschild Foundation, and RCP Philanthropic Projects, Inc. (RCP³) have announced a multi-year partnership to help better prepare the next generation of social innovators and nonprofit leaders.

Through financial support from the Rothschild Foundation and in-kind services from RCP³, the charitable arm of Rothschild Capital Partners (RCP), a multi-family global investment platform, the two organizations have committed to support the success of the Do Good Institute’s programs, including the annual Do Good Challenge, Do Good courses, Do Good Accelerator’s new Summer Program, and Scale Your Impact program. This partnership will enable the Institute to empower more students and alums to do good today and tomorrow.

By joining together, we can develop strong leaders, drive innovations, and produce impacts that will address today’s most pressing challenges.

In discussing the partnership David Rothschild, Director of RCP³ and the Foundation, said “We believe young people directly experiencing the joy and fulfillment that comes from “doing good” will have a deeper lifelong commitment to community and service engagement. By leveraging the perspectives of experienced business and investment professionals, new philanthropic and social impact leaders can have a more sustainable impact in all of their endeavors.”

The Rothschild Foundation and RCP³ will provide funding, time, and expertise – in strategic planning, innovation, finance, and business process – to support current and alumni Terps committed to changing the world for good.

“The Rothschild Foundation, RCP³, and the Do Good Institute share a common goal to motivate and prepare others to do good and do well. By joining together, we can develop strong leaders, drive innovations, and produce impacts that will address today’s most pressing challenges,” said Dr. Robert T. Grimm, Jr, Director of the Do Good Institute and the Levenson Family Chair in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at the School of Public Policy.

The Do Good Institute is building the nation’s first Do Good Campus at the University of Maryland by engaging all students from orientation to graduation and beyond in hands-on educational experiences (inside and outside the classroom) that empower young adults to do good today. Since its founding, the Institute has been fortunate to supportseveral students who have developed award-winning businesses, nonprofits, and projects making a social impact including Imperfect ProduceDistrict StormwaterHungry Harvest, the Food Recovery Network and Press Uncuffed

Rothschild continued, “We love our partnership with Do Good Institute. Our efforts in the classroom, at the Accelerator, and mentoring UMD students are a joy. It is thrilling to see the passion and commitment of the students and faculty. Our visits provide a ray of sunshine in a world that can feel divided and worrisome. At the end of every visit, it’s only a few minutes before one of us says, “That was a great day!””
