$200,000+ available to turn ideas for social change into action

The University of Maryland’s Do Good Campus Fund will award at least $200,000 next year to student-, staff-, and faculty-led projects that create meaningful social impact.
Now entering its fourth year, the fund provides grants of up to $35,000 for faculty- and staff-led projects and $5,000 for projects led by student groups, supporting members of the UMD community in launching, growing or scaling initiatives that address important social challenges and create positive change.
Previous Campus Fund projects have spanned nearly every school, college and a variety of units across UMD. From sustainability efforts to projects that preserve and celebrate historic legacies, and everything in between, all successful applications advance social impact, experiential education and student leadership to drive our campus Fearlessly Forward and strengthen UMD’s leadership as the nation’s first Do Good Campus.
The grants are awarded by the Do Good Campus Strategic Leadership Council, in collaboration with Senior Vice President and Provost Jennifer King Rice and the Do Good Institute, with collaboration from the Center for Community Engagement.
Faculty, staff and student groups are encouraged to apply online for funding to launch new initiatives or advance existing projects. Applications are due November 4, and awards will be announced in Spring 2027.
