Application and Process Steps
Step 1: Current University of Maryland, College Park students may look over all of our Summer 2024 positions below and see what roles are interesting to you. Visit our application portal to submit your materials by Monday, February 12 at 11:59pm. The materials required for each organization are listed below. You may apply to more than one position.
Step 2: Please do not reach out directly to host organizations. All applications must go through the application portal. The Do Good Institute will reach out to you by March 1 to let you know whether or not you have been matched with an organization for further review. Please note that you may be advanced with up to three organizations.
Step 3: From there, the organizations will reach out to candidates they are interested in, interview them, and extend an offer to the student they think is the best fit for the position. Filling out an application form does not guarantee an interview or a placement.
Step 4: Exact internship dates vary for each position, but most internships run from June to August. You will also be a member of our cohort of other Impact Interns and participate in professional development programming during the summer.

A Black Mom's Guide to IEPs mission is to create a supportive community that empowers Black mothers and caregivers to become strong advocates for their children's education. Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/ Prince George’s County, Inc. is a volunteer-based organization that partners with the juvenile court to improve the lives of children living in foster care who have suffered from abuse and neglect. With a strong commitment to diversity, CASA/ Prince George’s County trains and supervises volunteers from the community who advocate for the best interest of children, recognizing and respecting each child’s individual needs. The Dented Puck Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity created to support the parasport of blind hockey. Blind hockey is an adaptive version of the sport of hockey for people who are legally blind. The charity was started by two former hockey players who lost almost all of their vision, and are now deemed legally blind. The Dented Puck started as a podcast meant to grow awareness for our sport, and quickly morphed into a multi-faceted organization with a sole goal to grow awareness and funding, while creating opportunities for growth within our sport.
